These Are The TikTok Food Trends You Have To Try & The Ones To Avoid

TikTok recipes are great when you’re bored of your meals. Here are some to try…and others to steer clear of.

Food TikTok is a minefield. There are tons of recipes to crawl through and they make the process far easier to follow than say, a recipe book.

Have you ever wondered which recipes are actually worth the hype? We’ve handpicked some of the best recipes to try from TikTok, and some of the absolute worst (though we won’t judge if you like them…much).

Need to brush up on your cooking skills? Watch this first…

Pesto Eggs

Want to jazz up your usual fried eggs? Try Pesto eggs! Just fry an egg in some pesto (you can cover it with a saucepan lid to steam it too so it’s cooked thoroughly) and once it’s cooked, layer it on a slice of your favorite toasted bread along with some sliced avocado. Top with salt, pepper, chilli flakes or whatever you need, and you’ll have a bangin’ breakfast meal indeed.

Soy sauce noodles

There are tons of ways to make noodles and ramen on TikTok, but people are raving about these soy sauce noodles because they pretty much use what’s around the house. @tiffycooks explains how to make it below, but you can add anything you like to it too: green onions, bamboo shoots, meat, you name it.

Soooo easy and so yummy! Must try recipe, goes well with everything #noodles #easyrecipe #stirfry

Corn ribs

Miss ribs, the flavour of ribs or holding ribs? Corn ribs are a vegan-friendly alternative that involves cooking your corn on the cob in the shape of, you name it, a rib.

Cut the rubs lengthways, brush them with some olive oil and whatever spices you like. You can then grill, bake or air-dry them to have as a snack or side dish to your main meal.

Maybe!? Spicy vodka pasta

Okay, so this might not be for everyone but hear us out. We’re sure people have been using vodka in their pasta for a while, but it shot to popularity after an IG story from Gigi Hadid. Now TikTokers across the globe are making their own. Dare we say it, but they look amazing.

Marmite: Overnight Weetabix

It’s a love it or hate it situation we’ve found with overnight Weetabix. There are a ton of overnight Weetabix recipes to try and we wrote all about them.

The idea is to use Weetabix as your “biscuit” base, then add all of your toppings on later and leave overnight in the fridge to set. We rate it, ngl.

The banoffee pie flavour seems to be a real hit:

AVOID: Pringles mashed potatoes

This looks like an abomination if you ask us. If you’re out of potatoes, we still wouldn’t recommend doing this.

But if you’re craving Pringles now…get our Iceland student discount.

AVOID: Butter wrapped in fruit roll-ups

This has to be a troll. We can’t stop you from trying it, but eating butter straight up and wrapped in sugar isn’t good for you.

And there you have it! Some of the best (and worst) TikTok recipes on the internet. Don’t forget to sign up to Student Beans to get the food discounts we mentioned above. Which one was your favourite? Think you’ll give the “avoid” ones a go? Let us know!
