United Airlines Has A New Discount Exclusively For Gen Z

Being a member of Gen Z is a pretty strange existence. The amount of unprecedented events they’ve lived through is pretty staggering, the economy has been continually worsening throughout their lifetime, and student debts are higher than ever (and don’t seem to be coming down anytime soon). It’s not easy, to say the least.
Recent research showed that Gen Z is 94% more likely to book a flight when there’s some kind of discount. So to help ease this tension of…existence for Gen Z right now, United Airlines wants to reward them with an exclusive discount.
How To Get The Gen Z Discount
United wants to cut Gen Z a little slack when other generations are seemingly blaming them (and millennials) for everything that’s currently wrong with society. That’s why they’re offering everyone who’s a member of Gen Z a 5% discount on all United Economy and Basic Economy flights.
To snag the discount, first you need to be a member of the United rewards program, MileagePlus. Simply create the your free account (if you don’t already have one) via the United app. Be sure to put in your birthday so they can verify your age!
Once you’ve done that, you’ll automatically see the discount applied on all applicable flights, which include:
- United or United Express operated flights in the U.S.
- United or United Express operated flights to and from certain international destinations that originate in the U.S.
- Flights operated by certain partner airlines and identified with a “UA” flight number.
Other than that, you’re good to book any of your flights and redeem your 5% discount with United Airlines!
Other United Discounts Worth Using
If that’s not enough of a discount (or you’re not a member of Gen Z), there’s still more discounts to grab when you book with United. The airline recently became the first and only U.S. provider to allow passengers to pool their miles together.
What exactly does that mean? Traveling with groups just got a whole lot more affordable.
Starting now, groups of up to five people can share and redeem miles into one joint account made specifically for the group. It doesn’t matter if it’s friends or family—anyone can get in on the deal. The goal is to make traveling and vacation with friends and family easier and more accessible.
You have to be at least 18 years old to pool your miles with a group. To get started, simply log into your MileagePlus account on the United website. You’ll then be able to pool your miles and start planning your next group vacation!
