Get Paid $200 For Every Book You Read
Extra motivation to finish your summer reading list!
Do you have a stack of books up the ceiling you’re trying to get through during your summer vacation? And while those three months off may seem to stretch on forever, it will suddenly be August and then you won’t have any more time (or motivation) to read.
So if you’re looking for a solid incentive to really plow through those books, this is going to be your dream job.
WordsRated is looking for a “Bibliophile-at-large” to read books all summer long. The best part? You’ll earn a solid $200 for every book you finish, and there’s no limit to the amount of books you can read.
Aside from the actual reading, you’ll also be required to take notes on the various topics as you read through the books they choose for you. Some examples include:
- Number of characters by gender
- Number of sentences from male v. female characters
- Locations where the story takes place
- If other books are referenced in the story
- Number of certain words or phrases
- How many questions were asked in the book
- What animals appear in the book
Once they get all the information you complied, WordsRated will use it to create data-driven studies and statistics about novels. All books required for reading will be sent to you for free. The company also said that this can be a part-time position or you can really read and make it a full-time gig—the decision is up to you.
In order to be eligible, you’ll need to be at least 18 years old, have a passion for reading, and proficiency in English. If reading isn’t quite your forte, you can also apply to take surveys about books here (although it’s a volunteer position).
