Sims 4 Challenge Ideas and Tips

The best in-game challenges include the Sims 4 Decades Challenge, the Legacy Challenge, the Not So Berry Challenge, 100 Baby Challenge and Sims 4 Disney Princess Challenge.

There are also various mods for Sims 4 online, as with the previous games – including the Life Tragedies mod and Slice of Life mod.

How to get abducted by aliens in Sims 4

With the Sims 4: Get to Work expansion, you can get abducted by aliens entirely by chance, increase the possibility of your abduction or straight up cheat your way into being abducted. Alien baby, here we come…

These are your basic steps to getting abducted by aliens in Sims 4:

  • Go outside between the hours of 10 PM and 4 AM for a chance to get abducted
  • Increase your chances significantly by becoming a Scientist. In this career, sims can use rewards like the Satellite Dish and the Out of this World Desktop to contact Aliens
  • When your Sim reaches level 7 logic, they can use “Search for Truth” on the observatory to increase chances even more. Your sim will also see increased object interactions that can lead to an alien abduction and may be able to learn the Genius trait.

If all else fails, cheat!

If none of this seems to be working and you’re desperate to get your sim abducted, you can use cheats in Sims 4. Do the following to force an alien abduction in Sims 4 gameplay:

  • Press Control + Shift + C
  • Type in “testingcheats true”, then hit Enter
  • Type in “interactions.push AlienAbduction_BeAbducted”, then hit Enter again

You can use this cheat to get your Sims abducted multiple times, which could also result in an alien pregnancy.

  4. Click the left mouse button to place the object at your chosen angle.

How to make objects bigger Sims 4

  • Hold Shift and then press ]
  • Each time you press ] the object will get bigger

Alternatively, to make the objects in Sims 4 smaller

  • Hold Shift, then press [
  • Each time you press [ the object will get smaller

How to age up your sims

Ageing up in Sims 4 is easy, just make a birthday cake and have the Sim in question blow out the candles. This will automatically age them up into the next life stage (unless they’re already an elder). Babies also cannot be aged up this way. Instead, you have to wait three in-game days until the baby is ready, then you can select the Age Up option when clicking on the crib.

As for the birthday cake, make sure you place it in the centre of a table so your sims can reach it. Also remember to add birthday candles to it before any sims have a chance to take a piece. Gert your chosen sim to ‘Make A Wish’ or ‘Blow Out Candles’ and you’re all set.

Sims 4 creators confirmed that they’ve also intentionally altered lifespans on the base game upgrade, with a teenage sim taking 21 days to age up instead of 13. An adult sim would take 24 days to age up previously, but that length is now 33 days. The age span for young adult stays at 24 days in Sims 4.

You can set your sim’s life spans to short, medium, or long in the Sims 4 gameplay settings. Sims will naturally age up, and you’ll be notified when it’s due to happen a day before.

How to age up toddler Sims 4

The ageing process in Sims 4 is more complex for a toddler. If you’re ageing up a toddler, you’ll have to get an adult sim to help them blow out the candles by selecting the option to do so when clicking on the cake.

In the Sims 4: Growing Together expansion, baby sims can age up to become infants before they grow into toddlers.

How to write songs on Sims 4

If you want to write your own song in The Sims, it’s actually pretty simple. That said, it’s also time consuming work, so you’ll need to stick at it a bit. Once you reach Level 8 on an instrument of choice, you can write a song with it. If you continue to level up on your instrument of choice, more options become available, too.

It takes around 12 in-game hours for your character to complete their song, although you obviously won’t need to do this all in one go.

Is the Sims 4 free?

Currently, if you want to play the Sims 4 you will have to pay, however, EA has announced that from October 18th new players will be able to download and play the Sims 4 for free! You can download for free on Steam, Origin, Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and Xbox gaming systems. If you travel a lot, a laptop is also a great option to play Sims 4 on and many people do prefer to use a laptop to play Sims 4 and other Sims games on over a desktop PC.

How to use the new baby update on Sims 4

The latest expansion Growing Together lets you add babies to your already existing and new families and allows you to explore major life milestones with them. Not only can you customise your babies to a scary accuracy, but you can also celebrate things like potty training and bonding with their parent sims.
