Taking online classes is a new experience and it might take a while to get used to things. If you’re preparing to go back to school virtually, you’ll need to set up your bedroom for learning and keep things organized which might be a bit tricky at first. Luckily, we’ve got you covered, so check out our tips to help you have a successful and stress-free online semester below.

1. Make sure you have a laptop with all the right functions for class

Of course, if you’re taking online classes the key is to make sure that you have a laptop or desktop computer that will be able to accommodate for this. HP has a range of affordable deals for students on laptops and desktops that have all the functions you’ll need to complete your classes successfully. Including HD displays, long battery life, and optimum storage so you can create presentations and join Zoom meetings effortlessly and equip your home for learning success.

2. Clear your desk for working

If your desk is cluttered with wires, makeup, video games, or books it can be hard to concentrate properly. Remember that just because you’re in your room, it shouldn’t feel any different from being in class. It’s important to make sure that your school work and personal life are separate, even if it’s hard to make that distinction so making sure that you’re only using your desk for work is a good place to start.

3. Avoid distractions

Headphones will be your best friend. Unfortunately, virtual classes often come with distractions from the outside world. Whether that’s someone cutting the grass outside your window or noise coming from upstairs, it can be pretty easy to lose focus on your work. Make sure you have headphones in for online classes so you can hear properly, and if you’re studying in your room they can help to block out unwanted noise.

4. Make your space inspiring

If you need some motivation there’s plenty of ways you can make your room feel more inspiring. Chances are you’ll be spending a lot of time looking at your laptop screen or your bedroom wall whilst sitting at your desk. Print out some motivational quotes to stick on your wall or write them on post-it notes or set your laptop wallpaper as something that inspires you to do your best and not give up.

5. Make sure you have all the right equipment

Make sure that you have everything you’d normally take with you if you were attending your classes in-person. You’ll be on your own so you won’t be able to ask someone else if you can borrow a pen if you’re the person who always forgets one. Pens, pencils, notepads, post-it notes, highlighters, a calculator etc. are all things you’ll probably need, so don’t forget to buy them before the start of the school year.
