In fact, the first film of the trilogy “An Unexpected Journey†was released almost ten years ago!
Never got to catch them in the movies or don’t know what they’re about? The Hobbit, part of J.R.R Tolkien’s universe, tells the story of Bilbo Baggins, a simple-living hobbit who just wishes he had more food. On his adventures, he finds what we know as the infamous ring, which sets off the events of the entire series.
Reluctantly, he goes on an adventure that in the end tests his strength, friendships, eventual heroism, and his own personal growth.
The entirety of The Hobbit takes place 60 years before the main Lord of the Rings adventure, except for the new film’s prologue, which unfolds about twenty minutes before The Fellowship of the Ring begins.
