She’s The Man is now streaming on Netflix UK and we couldn’t be more excited.
The 2006 rom-com starring Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum is an absolute classic for anyone who’s a fan of 00s girly films, so if you’re planning a movie night in you should add it to your list asap.
She’s The Man is loosely inspired by Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and follows the story of Viola Hastings (played by Amanda Bynes) a teenage girl who loves soccer. After the girls’ team is cut and her twin brother who plays in the boys’ team sneaks off to London with his band, she decides to disguise herself as him in order to play. Oh and to further complicate things her new roommate Duke (played by Channing Tatum) thinks she’s a boy and there’s a whole load of romantic drama when Duke starts to develop feelings for Viola as herself and confides in her as Sebastian.
She’s The Man has an average rating of 5.10/10 on Rotten Tomatoes, but let’s face it, teen girl dramas are normally not favoured by film critics (but that doesn’t mean they’re not amazing).
