How can we add more happiness to our lives? We were thinking about how we spend a lot more time on social media than say, a decade ago. So we figured why not make the space we spend time on a happier place?

If being happier all round is one of your New Years Resolution goals, below are some of our favourite influencers you should follow to make your social media space a positive one to be scroll through.

1. The Happy Newspaper

How could we not kick off with The Happy Newspaper? It’s a publication by the talented Emily Coxhead who started it back in their uni days. It’s a newspaper sharing the happiness in the world. Because let’s be honest, the news can be quite intense at times.

It’s released quarterly and contains all the happy news collected over a period of three months.

Balance things out by following The Happy Newspaper and enjoy their cute illustrations that are bound to make you smile.

2. Werenotreallystrangers

We’re Not Really Strangers is a mix of happy and deep posts. They make you think a lot about the people around you and about cultivating inner peace. They speak many truths and are a great resource to tag your pals in if they’re going through a rough time.

3. Lizzo

Playful, real, and speaks a lot of truth. She’s that iconic that she got the crowd at Glasto to chant “I love you, you are beautiful and you can do anythingâ€.

An author, poet and renowned non-conforming and transfeminine artist, they go by the moniker ALOK. They speak out about tons of issues in the trans community, all while uplifting those exploring their own identities through words and art.

#mybodymyrules defines Harnaam Kaur’s instagram page. They’re huge on women empowerment, living by their own rules and influencing women across the globe to never be silenced.

6. Ysm8

Another IG that focuses on empowerment. Led by founder Poonam, Ysm8 says they aim to “help you celebrate your whole self, embrace your vulnerabilities and express yourself honestly. We uplift each other by caring for our community and ourselves.â€

7. Oh Happy Day

Oh Happy Day’s colourful instagram feed is enough to bring a smile to your face. Part shop part blog, they’re packed with tons of craft inspiration, photobooth ideas and themed props for events all-year round. They’re all about empowering you to be creative.

8. The Curiosity Club

“Unlearn & relearn how to better navigate your mind, emotions & habits in our online life schoolâ€

The Curiosity Club is all about getting to know yourself, breaking out of bad habits and forming good ones. They want people to feel more comfortable in themselves and live their lif to the fullest. They do this through quotes, tips, tricks and videos. A great account if you’re feeling a little lost and need some positivity.

9. Tanks Good News

Similar to The Happy News, they’re mainly ran on IG and use a ton of memes to make you smile. They post uplifting news, while also poking fun at challenges trending on social media platforms and generally just want to have a good time by the looks of things. We’re totally here for it.

10. The Coven Girl Gang

The Coven Girl Gang is led by Sarah Lucia, a business and life coach. While you may be wondering why you should follow them as a student, they actually offer a ton of valuable life lessons and advice you can apply to your studies. Tons of students are freelancing these days too, so this IG may really help you.
