There’s nothing worse than that sinking feeling when you’re halfway through your journey back to your hometown and you realise that you have forgotten something.

With the Christmas break coming up, and getting ready to head back to your family homes for the holidays, hopefully this list of the essentials to pack will help you not leave anything important behind.

Electricals

This is a no-brainer. You’ll most likely need everything from your phone and laptop to your speaker and portable charger at some point over the holidays.

But, also, make sure you don’t forget the little things that can easily slip your mind, like your phone chargers or USB storage for your uni work.

Uni Work

There are always little bits of uni work that you can’t escape doing over the break, especially if you have exams or deadlines looming.

So, however tempting it is to leave your uni work behind, be sure to pack some of your notebooks, textbooks, revision cards, or other things you need to get some work done.

Loungewear

Hopefully the Christmas holiday will afford you some well-needed time to relax, so be sure to pack those comfy loungewear sets, fluffy socks, slippers, or your cosy dressing gown.

Also, don’t forget your festive pyjamas for Christmas morning!

Outfits For The Main Events

After spending hours scrolling through online fashion shops (probably when you should’ve been studying), looking for the perfect outfits for every occasion the festive period throws at you, it would be a tragedy if you forgot them!

So, pack up that fancy Christmas party dress, those outfits for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and that sparkly dress for New Year’s!

House Keys

You really don’t want to forget your house keys for your family home when you head home for the Christmas break!

After living by your own rules for a while at uni, you want to retain a level of freedom when you are back in your hometown. You want to be able to come and go as you please, to see friends, go to Christmas parties, or do any other festive activities.

But if you forget your keys, everything you do will have to be on your family’s schedule!

Presents

You don’t want to turn up for Christmas empty handed, so don’t forget to take those presents for your family and friends home with you!

If you’re yet to buy everyone’s Christmas presents, a good trick is to order them online and get them delivered to your home address, so you don’t have to lug them all the way home in a big sack like you’re training to be Santa.

The Festive Spirit

Not tangible, but still very important. Don’t forget to take that Christmas spirit and joy home to share with your family!

Hopefully this jogged your memory for bits and bobs you need to pack and can help you with the stressful and tedious task of packing this holiday season!
