Here’s How to Get $500 Off the New iPhone 13

The iPhone 13 just launched, and retailers are offering crazy incentives to buy the new model.

Mobile carriers are practically begging you to upgrade to the 13, which is surprising considering how much hype surrounds new Apple products and they dominate the market. The ongoing global chip shortage is still heavily affecting Android products, so now is the perfect time to grab the latest and greatest iPhone.

The Best Deals

Each mobile carrier is offering their own incentive, so we rounded up which ones are actually worth looking into.

Verizon

Verizon Wireless is offering customers a $500 pre-paid MasterCard if you switch carriers. Existing Verizon customers can get trade-in credits of up to $1000 if you’re on an unlimited plan. The phones worth the most, according to Verizon, are the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max; and the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max.

AT&T

You can get up to $1000 in billing credits if you trade-in a phone that’s worth $180 or higher, meaning that the iPhone 13 Pro Max is going to give you the best bang for your buck.

T-Mobile

New and existing T-Mobile can get up to $800 worth of trade-in credit for those on the Max plan. Their “Forever Upgrade” initiative means you can also get up to $800 on all future trade-ins.

Shoppers Beware

Be warned, a lot of times these deals have hidden extra fees that, in turn, cost you more money in the long run. The cost of the phone may be less, but your monthly bill is higher. Some of you who had phones in the early 2000s may remember this scheduled upgrade system, where you basically got a “free” phone every year (except it wasn’t).

Studies show that people are holding onto their phones for longer periods of time thanks to technology getting better at such a rapid rate, so retailers and mobile carriers are really incentivizing upgrading to the latest and greatest. Just be sure to do your research before you jump up and get that “free” phone.
