Beauty boxes are amazing. I love them. It’s like getting a little present every month from yourself, to yourself. Plus, they give you the chance to try out products that you might not otherwise have found without a lil sample being posted right through your door!

Beauty boxes usually come with a few travel-size samples and a few full-size, so they do tend to be worth your money if you get at least full-size thing that you want. That being said, not all beauty boxes were made equal.

GLOSSYBOX is a real favourite here in the Student Beans office, and not just because students get 40% off their first box (although that does make it that little bit sweeter). GLOSSYBOX never fails to deliver some real winners every month. In August, I got a bottle of Moroccan Oil, which was worth more than I paid for the box itself. Now that is bang for your buck. In September, it was all about delicious products and included an extra edible treat which I’m not complaining about.

The September box included a cleanser from Murad and This Works’ well loved Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, that’ll send you off to sleep every evening even when exam stress is getting to you. The variation of different types of products is awesome.

BIRCHBOX

Birchbox is a real treat. The boxes change in design each month and I have to admit I’m currently using them as makeup drawers on my desk. The best part about Birchbox is you can review the products after you’ve received them in your box and then earn points to redeem off of the Birchbox Shop. Plus, you get 10% off the products that are in the box if you want to purchase them full-size on site.

LATEST IN BEAUTY

Latest in Beauty are different to other beauty subscription boxes in that you can choose how many products you want a month and what those products are from a specially curated list of top beauty brands. Although slightly more expensive at £15 per month for 3 products, we do appreciate the luxury of being able to select exactly what we want each month. LOOKFANTASTIC

The lookfantastic beauty box is always a real treat. You’ll get 6 products each month worth over £50, so considering a 12 month subscription is only £13, that’s definitely worth it.
