Frequently Asked Questions

How to clean Crocs

Crocs are actually fairly simple to clean — great news, right? No more filthy shoes!

You can clean your Crocs in one of two ways:

  • Hand washing — Rinse away any loose soil (over the sink or bath) and then wash/dab them with a damp cloth, mild soap and cold water. Bish Bash Bosh, clean Crocs.
  • Machine washing — If you have Classic Crocs, slides, or other styles that are made from Crocs signature Croslite™ foam material, you can place your Crocs in the washing machine on a delicate cycle with a bit of gentle laundry detergent.

Whichever way you choose to clean your Crocs, make sure you air dry them afterwards. Leaving them to dry naturally will help prevent them from shrinking or warping. You can speed up the process with a circulating fan, if needed, but avoid keeping your Crocs in direct sunlight or by a forced-air heater.

What are Crocs made of?

Crocs are primarily made from a special resin called Croslite, which is soft, lightweight, and super comfy to wear (plus it’s non-marking, too, so no scuffed floors!). The material is water-resistant, so it’s great for wet conditions and easy to clean. It also provides cushioning for your feet.

While Croslite is the main material, some Crocs styles may include other materials like fabric or straps for added comfort and functionality.

Can you drive in Crocs?

What you wear while driving is mostly a personal choice, but yes, you absolutely can drive in Crocs.

Shoes are extremely important for driving — you want to be comfy and safe (especially on longer journeys). Crocs make great driving shoes because you can slip them on easily and wear the strap around your ankle for further support when pushing down on the pedals.

However, if you are thinking of wearing Platform Crocs, maybe rethink your choice. If the sole of the shoes is too thick, or too soft/too thin, you’ll have difficulty using the pedals. You also want to make sure your shoes or Crocs are narrow enough to fit by your pedals and not cause you to push down on multiple at once.
