It’s no secret that there are certain things that come across as way more appealing to employers, such as speaking a second language or knowing how to use certain software.

If you want to give your CV a bit of a boost and make you instantly more hireable, here are some things that you could do to help you stand out from the crowd and help you to land the job.

1. Duolingo

If you want to learn a new language, Duolingo is a great place to start. It’s free and the app gives you challenges to complete per day to make learning easy and to help you brush up on your skills.

2. Codeacademy

If you want to lean how to code, or expand on existing skills, Codeacademy is the place to check out. While some content is paid, the majority of the beginners stuff and easier levels is free, meaning you can essentially learn how to code without having to spend anything!

3. OpenLearn

OpenLearn brings you free learning from The Open University. Covering a wide range of courses across pretty much every subject you could ever wish to cover, the courses can teach you something new and instantly boost your employability.

4. FutureLearn

FutureLearn is another place where you can find free courses to help you learn new things, and you can complete them at your own pace and in your own time. While not all of the courses are free, the majority are either free or low cost.

5. HubSpot academy

If you want a career in marketing, HubSpot academy offers a range of free courses and certifications. From digital marketing to SEO, social media and YouTube you can learn lots of new skills to impress potential employers in the field you want to get into.
