Cooking can be fun, but washing up? Definitely not. And when you live with flatmates in student housing, cooking and eating together is an even bigger challenge.
Skip the tidy-up, avoid being the designated chef, and sip a cocktail or two by going out instead of staying in. Where to? PizzaExpress, the home of proper Italian pizza. Schedule it with some sunshine and it’ll be like you’re in the streets of Rome — minus the price.
With a PizzaExpress student discount, you and your table can receive 30% off* of the bill (food and drinks included) Sunday to Friday! Even if you’re not great at maths you just know that’s an incredible saving.
*30% discount runs 26th May - 12th June 2026: after that time the discount goes back to regular 25% off.

Why PizzaExpress?
PizzaExpress is the OG.
A high street staple, PizzaExpress delivers a taste of Italy through their regular menu but also keeps things fresh with their deliciously exciting limited editions that spring up during the year. They’re known for their classic Italian pizzas, but they also offer a selection of mains like pasta and salad to keep everyone around the table happy.
What PizzaExpress is really known for though, are their dough balls. Warm pillows of dough dipped in their famous garlic butter. It’s the best way to treat yourself and makes listening to your flatmate’s endless stories that little bit easier. They’re a must-have on any visit.
PizzaExpress is the ideal all-rounder: chill atmosphere, mouth-watering food, and vibrant drinks, helping your catch-up flow into the night. Whether you’re a pint pundit or cocktail connoisseur, PizzaExpress has it all (and included in the PizzaExpress student discount!).
There really is something for every kind of flat mate.
PizzaExpress favourites
We’ve tried and tested PizzaExpress and can confirm: it’s delicious. It’s the perfect catch-up spot.
Unsure what’s good? We’ve got some of the PizzaExpress favourites; get them all and share amongst the table — sharing is caring!
Dough Balls
Did you even go to PizzaExpress if you didn’t get their dough balls? So simple, so delicious. Carbs for the soul.
Pollo ad Astra PizzaExpress
Pollo ad Astra is one of PizzaExpress’ most popular pizzas. Cajun spiced chicken, red onions, mozzarella, garlic oil, and sweet red peppers – it’s got a hint of sweetness behind the slight spice which keeps people coming back to devour it.
PizzaExpress Leggera pizzas
PizzaExpress makes sure no one is left without the goodness of pizza. Their famous pizzas with a hole (leggera meaning lighter) are a healthier alternative to their traditional pizzas.
It’s essentially a ring of pizza, or a pizza with a hole in it — whichever way you look at it — with the middle filled with fresh salad. It’s a great way to get your pizza fix and add some extra veggies into the mix, too.
Which one to go for though? We tried the Leggera Padana and would go back again just for that. Goat’s cheese, caramelised onions, spinach, tomato, garlic oil, and red onions — a firm favourite for us.
PizzaExpress Sloppy Giuseppe
Another iconic pizza for PizzaExpress is the Sloppy Giuseppe. One of their classic pizzas hailing all the way from 1999, Sloppy Giuseppe is covered in spicy beef, red onions, green peppers, and creamy mozzarella. So good. No wonder it’s never left the menu.
Grand Chicken Caesar
No bias here. PizzaExpress isn’t just known for handmade pizzas; their main menu is also full of delicious hits.
If you’re more of a salad fan, the Grand Chicken Caesar is simple in nature but full of flavour. Expect your usual chicken, brown anchovies, little gem lettuce, croutons, Gran Milano cheese, a free-range egg, and Caesar dressing. A great option for lunchtimes.
Cannelloni Al Forno
What could rival pizza? Pasta.
Basically the same thing in different form, pasta is another must-try at PizzaExpress. We love the Cannelloni Al Forno — spinach and ricotta filled pasta with passata, bechamel, mozzarella, garlic oil, and Gran Milano cheese, baked in the oven for a hot and homely dish.
Try a range of different dishes between you, or trial the menu on your own! Either way, use our PizzaExpress student discount for money off your bill Sunday-Friday.

Always ask the servers for clarification if you need a vegan menu, especially if you have any allergies, too.
