What is “Student Shopping Nights”?
Student Shopping Nights (SSN) is a UK-wide retail event that's exclusively for students. Think in-store offers and exclusive discounts from your favourite brands – all in one place, all in one night, at some of the UK's biggest shopping centres.
It's not your average sale. This is a purpose-built student experience, timed perfectly for Freshers season, where students can shop, save, and make a night of it. With competitions and giveaways also happening, it’s no surprise that previous events have attracted over 100,000 students, so the word is well and truly out.
Why did Student Beans acquire Student Shopping UK?
Honestly? It's a natural fit.
Student Beans has always been about helping students save money — online, in-app, and now, in person. Student Shopping Nights brings that mission into the real world in the most exciting way possible. Two brands, one shared goal: making student life a little more affordable and a lot more fun.
By bringing SSN under the Student Beans umbrella, we're able to make the experience bigger, better, and more connected to the savings students already love. And from August 2026, Student Shopping Nights will become a feature within the Student Beans app — so everything you need will be in one place.

What is the eligibility for a Students' Shopping Night event?
In order to access the great offers on the night, you will need to be aged 16+ and provide a valid student ID when you collect your wristband such as the following student cards: NUS, UCAS, and any ID from your university and college. You'll also be able to show your student discount verification, such as your Student Beans ID, on the app.
Has this event been popular with students before?
Hugely! Student Shopping Nights has already attracted over 100,000 students during previous Freshers periods — so it's well worth having on your radar.
