Super Saturday
The last Saturday before Christmas is known as Super Saturday. It's usually the busiest shopping day during the November-December holiday rush.
Experts at the National Retail Federation (NRF) estimate that most people only have half of their holiday shopping done by this point. Thanks to rising inflation and travel costs, consumers are buying less gifts this year, which means that stores are overstocked.
Lucky for you, that means retailers are going to be slashing prices in order to get rid of inventory before the end of the year.
When To Shop
With shipping deadlines for Christmas already over with, retailers are going to be looking to move as many products as possible. This applies to both online and in-person shopping.
Super Saturday is the golden time to grab some presents at brick and mortar stores. Or, if you don't mind sending it a bit late, it's the perfect time to online shop, too.
Plenty of stores are already knocking down prices to about 50-60% off. The NRF says they've never seen such dramatic discounts being released so early.
After-Christmas Deals
Of course, there's always the opportunity to shop the after-Christmas sales, too. Seasonal products usually get marked 80-90% off in the days following the holiday. So any of those holiday gift sets, decor, and even leftover advent calendars can be snagged up for pocket change.
Retailers are already moving on to Valentine's Day, which means marking down the previous holiday items. So if you didn't get exactly what you want for Christmas, it's time to start shopping those sales.
