A delicious lunch option for the busy student.
Ingredients
227 grams halloumi cheese
15 ml olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Lemon wedges (garnish)
Fresh parsley, chopped (garnish)
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Cut the halloumi cheese into even slices, about ½ inch thick.
In a small bowl, mix olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Brush each slice of halloumi with this mixture on both sides.
Place the halloumi slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd them to ensure even cooking.
Air fry the halloumi for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
Once cooked, remove the halloumi with tongs and place them on a serving platter.
Garnish with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. Serve immediately while hot and crispy. Use for topping salads or use as a wrap filling.
Notes
For an added kick, sprinkle some chilli flakes on the halloumi slices before air frying.
Pair the crispy halloumi with a fresh salad or serve it alongside warm pita bread for a complete meal.
