H&M Student Discounts

H&M will occasionally run a H&M student discount, but not all year round. However, H&M do regularly run sales and other discounts which will appear on this page when they’re offered.

H&M’s returns policy gives you 28 days to return your order if you’re not satisfied. Follow these steps if you’re returning an online purchase:

• Register your return — click on ‘register your return’ and select the items you wish to return
• Select your return method or courier
• Follow the instructions provided in the portal for your chosen return method

All returns must be in good condition with the labels still attached.

H&M has recognised the environmental challenges with fast fashion and has taken several steps to address these issues. One of its most known is the Garment Collection Program where you can bring unwanted clothing, regardless of the brand, to an H&M store to recycle. Some are repurposed into new textiles or products — including its own Conscious Collection — while others may even end up as insulation for buildings.

H&M stands for Hennes & Mauritz. H&M was founded in 1947 by Erling Persson. The first H&M shop opened in Sweden and he called the shop Hennes, which translates into 'Hers'. Twenty-one years later, in 1968, Hennes acquired another brand, Mauritz Widforss, a Stockholm-based retailer that sold hunting and fishing equipment. But it wasn’t until 1974 that Hennes & Mauritz finally shortened their name to just H&M.
