How it works

How to get the TGJones student discount

Three quick steps and you're saving on your next TGJones shop.

Step 1

Sign up and find TGJones

Join Student Beans (or log in) and search for TGJones to get your Student Beans iD ready.

Step 2

Pick your non-excluded items

Fill your basket with stationery, cards or other eligible items, keeping in mind excluded categories like CDs, magazines and gift cards won't qualify.

Step 3

Show your iD at the till

Present your Student Beans iD page when you pay in store to get 10% off your order.

TGJones (yep, formerly your local WHSmith High Street) is giving students 10% off in-store, no faff required. Whether you're stocking up on stationery before term starts or just need a last-minute card for someone's birthday, that discount adds up.

We've mapped out all 499 confirmed TGJones stores across the UK that honour the student discount, so you're not stuck guessing which branch will actually let you use it. Scroll down to find your nearest one.

How to redeem in store

It's simple: sign up to Student Beans, grab your Student Beans iD, and show it at the till when you pay. That's it β€” 10% comes off your order there and then, no code to type in and no app download needed.

What's actually worth buying

TGJones stores are stacked with stationery, books, greetings cards and general bits you end up needing more than you'd think during term time. Just keep in mind the discount doesn't stretch to everything β€” things like CDs, DVDs, games, tobacco, drinks, confectionery, magazines, gift cards and lottery products are excluded, so it's best used on the everyday stationery and non-excluded stock.

Where you'll find them

With 499 stores confirmed, TGJones has a proper spread across the UK, from bigger names like Dorking and Beverley to high streets in places like Airdrie, Aldridge, Arnold and Ashton Under Lyne. Chances are there's one on your route to uni or your local high street already.

Questions

TGJones student discount FAQs

How do I get the TGJones student discount in store?

Sign up to Student Beans and get your Student Beans iD page ready on your phone. Show it to the cashier at checkout in any TGJones store and 10% will come off your order.

Do all TGJones stores accept the student discount?

The discount is valid in TGJones stores (formerly WHSmith High Street stores), but it excludes Outlet stores. Check the map above to find your nearest confirmed store.

How does TGJones verify I'm a student?

You'll need a valid Student Beans ID page, which you get once you've verified your student status when signing up. Just show this page at the till, no separate ID needed.

Can I use the discount on things like DVDs, magazines or gift cards?

No, a list of items are excluded from all discount offers, including CDs, DVDs, games, tobacco, drinks, confectionery, magazines, stickers, gift cards, e-books and lottery products. The discount applies to other eligible in-store purchases.

Can I use more than one voucher or combine it with other offers?

No, only one voucher can be redeemed per transaction and it can't be used alongside any other voucher or offer. No cash alternative is available either.

Is there anything else I should know before I try to redeem it?

Photocopied or altered vouchers won't be accepted, and the voucher is non-transferable, so it must be your own Student Beans iD. TGJones can also reject any voucher it believes has been tampered with, so make sure you're showing the genuine page.
