The University of Cambridge has a great mix of cultural and scientific spots, including the beautiful Cambridge University Botanic Garden and the Cambridge University Museum of Zoology.

Cambridge also boasts some interesting alumni including Tom Hiddleston and Sacha Baron Cohen, and is a city with plenty of vegan-friendly restaurants (although it didn’t make our top ten list).

Getting in

Cambridge’s average entry tariff is one of the highest in the UK, second only to St. Andrews. With an average UCAS tariff of 206, students at this uni could easily have secured three A*’s and one A, all at A-Level.

Student satisfaction

Cambridge University has a pretty good average accommodation score of 4.06, beating other top universities like Warwick and Bath, and soaring above the national average digs score of 3.8.

The student to staff ratio of 11.4:1 means there’s plenty of lecturers on hand to support — some universities only have one lecturer per every 20 students.

Future prospects

Those who graduated from Cambridge University in 2021 did pretty well, with over two-thirds achieving first and 2:2 degrees. The amount of firsts is on track with the national average, but with only 36% securing a 2:1, Cambridge Uni’s 2021 cohort were well under the 44% national average.

Not to worry though — 93% of the University of Cambridge graduates find a career within 15 months, which is a great deal higher than the national average of 78%. The graduate starting salary in Cambridge isn’t too shabby either, sitting at £23,674.
