The LEGO Art World Map contains over 11,000 pieces – making it the biggest LEGO set (in terms of brick count). The tallest LEGO set, measuring in at 58.5 inches (149cm) high. In third place is the whopping LEGO Titanic, measuring 53inches (135 cm) long. The 1:200 scale model of the historic ship makes it the ultimate building project with 9,090 pieces.

Manufacturing of Lego bricks occurs at several locations around the world. Moulding is done in Billund, Denmark; Nyíregyháza, Hungary; Monterrey, Mexico; and most recently in Jiaxing, China. Brick decorations and packaging are done at plants in Denmark, Hungary, Mexico, and Kladno in the Czech Republic.

LEGO is expensive for all sorts of reasons, with the big ones being the cost of licences for franchises like Harry Potter and Star Wars, the specialised design of the bricks, lack of quality competition, high-grade thermoplastics, Research & Design etc.

Unsurprisingly, the most expensive LEGO sets are often the biggest as they have the most pieces and take the longest to build. In 2023, the most expensive on-sale LEGO model is the AT-AT at £734.99, which is the same price as the LEGO Millennium Falcon. Priced at £614.99 is the Identity and Landscape kit, followed by the £589.99 LEGO Titanic.

The LEGO Group is a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark. The company is still owned by the Kirk Kristiansen family who founded it in 1932.

The amount of LEGO VIP points you earn will depend on the region and currency you’re shopping in. On the LEGO website, you’ll find a table explaining how many points you’ll earn for the amount of money you’re spending. An example is 7.5 points for 1 Euro, 6.5 points for 1 US Dollar and 8 points for 1 British Pound Sterling.
