The era of the meal deal is back and better than ever.

McDonald’s recently announced the return of their $5 meal deal, and now other fast food chains are racing to keep up. What does that mean for you? You get to reap the rewards of saving money and extra free food!

We decided to do the leg work and rank all the best meal deals available right now. Spend wisely so you can get the most bang for your buck!

8. Burger King

Deal: Choose from a Whopper Jr., Bacon Cheeseburger, or Chicken Jr. Includes nuggets, fries, and a drink.

Price: $5.00

Verdict: Burger King is a worse McDonalds—there, I said it. If you want a true $5 meal deal, then go to McDonald’s to get better food for the same price.

7. McDonald’s

Deal: Get a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, four-piece McNuggets, small fries, and a small drink. If you make a purchase of at least $1 on a Friday, you also get a free order of fries.

Price: $5.00

Verdict: The McDonald’s $5 meal deal was the OG, but there are plenty of better fast food deals available now. It’s time to elevate your game a bit.

6. Wendy’s

Deal: Choose between a bacon, egg, and cheese English muffin or a sausage, egg, and cheese English muffin. You also get a small order of seasoned potatoes.

Price: $3.00

Verdict: For just $3 you can’t really complain, but you only get a very small breakfast sandwich and potatoes. We think Wendy’s could have put a little more razzle dazzle on their meal deal.

5. Jack in the Box

Deal: Choose from the following items:

  • Jr. Jumbo Jack Burger
  • Tiny tacos or two Crunchy Tacos
  • 4-piece Chicken Nuggets
  • 3-piece French Toast Sticks
  • Sourdough Grilled Cheese
  • Jr. Chicken Sandwich, Jr. Cheeseburger, or Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger
  • Value Curly Fries or French Fries
  • Value Drink

Price: $4.00 or less

Verdict: The price is dependent on the menu item you pick. Some of these are pretty good deals, but others are average, resulting in a mixed rating.

4. Sonic

Deal: Choose from select menu items:

  • Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger
  • Chili Cheese Coney
  • Bacon Ranch Queso Wrap
  • Southwest Crunch Queso Wrap
  • Small Tots
  • Any of the 12 flavors of Sonic’s Shakes in a 16-ounce size

  • Super Slam
  • Scrambled Eggs & Cheddar Breakfast
  • Everyday Value Slam
  • Quarter Pound Cheeseburger served with wavy-cut fries

2. Starbucks

Deal: Starbucks launched a new combo menu featuring breakfast items:

  • $5.00: a butter croissant and tall hot or iced coffee or a tall hot or iced tea
  • $6.00: a breakfast sandwich and tall hot or iced coffee or tall hot or iced tea
  • $7.00: Double-Smoked Bacon sandwich or Impossible breakfast sandwich with a tall hot or iced coffee or tall hot or iced tea

1. Taco Bell

Deal: Get a full-sized Chalupa Supreme, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, or a Double-Stacked Taco, all of which come with chips and nacho cheese and a medium drink.
