We’ve Found The Perfect Alternatives For Your Favorite Met Gala Looks

The 2022 Met Gala theme was In America: An Anthology of Fashion.

While the Met Gala is usually one of the most-talked about events in Hollywood, this year’s edition was shockingly lackluster, for the most part. Many critiques of the event have said that the gala has become less about fashion and more about who can wear the most outlandish and garish costume.

But this year (with a somewhat obscure theme, as well) left most viewers underwhelmed. There were some spectacular red carpet looks, however, and we’re here to show you how you can replicate the iconic fashion without killing your bank account thanks to Student Beans.

1. Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian read the assignment. She was lucky enough to be allowed to borrow Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress that she wore to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy. The gown has over 6,000 hand-sewn crystals on it. It’s the first time anyone has worn the dress since her death.

This beautiful gown from Nasty Gal mimics Monroe’s dress thanks to the embellishments and plunging neckline. While it might not have thousands of hand-sewn crystals, you can pay homage to one of the most famous dresses of all time with this version. It’s even 50% off right now!

2. Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid went with a more edgy look, donning a leather corseted dress by Burberry. She completed the look with lace gloves and hosiery, along with dramatic pearls on her ankle.

This bustier mini dress from ASOS is similar to the one Hadid wore. The mini length on this version makes it the perfect option for going out, especially if you want a more dramatic and LBD to add to your wardrobe. Feel free to add accessories to the look, too!

3. Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo wore a custom Versace dress to reference the Gilded Age in fashion. The dress is meant to reflect opulence and is entirely hand-embroidered in crystals.

To echo Rodrigo’s style, pick up this dress from FARFETCH. The Marchesa Notte sequined gown is completely stunning while being similar to the one Rodrigo wore to the gala (although the color is gold instead of lavender). It also comes in black.

4. Lori Harvey

In a Michael Kors original, Lori Harvey showed off her amazing abs in this black ballgown. The chic look harkened back to older Hollywood glamour styles with the dramatic fabric draping, but added a modern twist with more exposed skin.

If you want something similar (but not quite as daring) as Harvey’s look, this mini dress from Princess Polly still gives you the cutout, but makes it a much more versatile LBD thanks to the sheer panels covering them. And considering tons of stars wore lace and mesh to the gala this year, we consider this a win-win!

5. Khloe Kardashian

Khloe finally made her Met Gala debut in a stunning custom-made gown by Jeremy Scott. There’s over 540,000 hand-sewn glass beads on it, and the entire dress was made in just 10 days. She completed the look with dramatic black gloves.

This more muted version from H&M copies Kardashian’s column gown style and super sequined look. It’s light enough to wear during the daytime but can easily have accessories added to it to make it a more nighttime appropriate dress.
