Law & Order: SVU

Law & Order: SVU is the longest-running live-action television show in history, and for good reason—it’s one of the absolute best crime drama procedurals ever. If you haven’t gotten the chance to get acquainted with Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler, now is the time.
American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez
The latest installment in the American Story franchise centers on the Aaron Hernandez murder investigation, which took the country by storm back in 2013. After that, his subsequent suicide in 2017 after being acquitted of all charges gripped the media. The new series from FX focuses on Hernandez’s life during his time in the NFL before his eventual downfall.
Ten episodes are planned for the mini-series, with seven of them available to stream now. Reviews have been favorable so far, and it’s one of the top shows on Hulu, currently.
The Bear
The most recent season of The Bear won seven Emmys. There’s no sign of the series slowing down anytime soon. Overall, the show has a whopping 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Comparisons are being made to other critically acclaimed workplace dramas like Mad Men.
We follow Carmen “Carmy” Anthony Berzatto, a chef used to working in Michelin-starred restaurants. He inherits his family’s Chicago-based sandwich shop upon his brother’s suicide. During this, he has to deal with his brother’s debts, mess of a kitchen, unruly staff, and family drama.
Bob’s Burgers
There’s a reason the Belcher family is so popular—it’s because Bob’s Burgers is just that good of a show. The animated sitcom follows Bob, the owner of a burger restaurant in the fictional town of Seymour’s Bay, New Jersey. The supporting cast includes his wife Linda and three kids Tina, Gene, and Louise.
One of the hallmarks of the show is the changing store to the right of the restaurant and the name of the exterminator on the van in the opening sequence, along with the iconic “Burger of the Day.” There have been so many at this point (14 seasons, with 15 set to release in fall 2024), that there’s even an official Bob’s Burgers cookbook.
The Kardashians
Watching television’s most famous family is always entertaining, which is why The Kardashians never disappoints. This iteration of the reality show (post-Keeping Up With The Kardashians) focuses on Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kylie, Kendall, and Kris and their various endeavors.
There’s never a shortage of drama, but the series focuses much more on what’s the lives of the Kardashian clan. From the mundanity of everyday life (Kim trying to raise her kids well) to the biggest of life events (Kourtney giving birth to Rocky), there’s always something to gossip about.
Modern Family
One of the most iconic sitcoms to date, Modern Family follows the lives of three different families who are all connected through marriage. Told in the popular mockumentary style as made famous by The Office, the show gives an honest and funny perspective on family life.
The show has won 22 Emmy awards during its 11 seasons (which aired from 2009 to 2019) and is regarded as one of the best television shows ever made. Aside from how highly meme-able it is, you’re bound to find a character that resonates with you and bond with instantly.
Family Guy
Honestly, if you haven’t watched any episodes of Family Guy at this point, you probably aren’t going to. Everyone on planet Earth has seen clips from the show, obviously—but have you watched the entire series from start to finish? It’s not too late if you haven’t!
In case you don’t know, Family Guy is about Peter Griffin and his family, which includes his wife Lois; children Meg, Chris, and Stewie; and anthropomorphic dog Brian. A revolving cast of characters adds color and adventures to the Griffin’s lives, for better or worse. Over the course of 22 seasons, the show has won 8 Emmys and been nominated for 22.
American Dad!
Another iconic show from Seth MacFarlane, American Dad! is coming back for another season this fall. Obviously, that means there’s never been a better time to get caught up. Thanks to Hulu, binging the series is easier than ever.
Another animated family sitcom, this iteration follows CIA agent (and proud Republican) Stan, housewife Francine, hippie liberal daughter Hayley, and dorky son Steve. Little has been revealed about the new season (slated for fall 2024), but the hype has increased as time passes.
