Texas-based gas station chain Buc-ee’s recently went viral thanks to a post from the company saying that employees could earn up to $225,000 per year by working for them.
This lead many millennials and Gen Z-ers lamenting online the fact they spent so much money on college when they could have gotten a higher paying job working at Buc-ee’s. Even as a part-time job, you could still make some serious bank.
Buc-ee’s Benefits
Buc-ee’s is definitely an outlier when it comes to employee benefits at low-skill jobs. The average salary for 2022 was just over $54,000 per year.
The company also stated that employees are eligible for a 401(k) match of up to 6%, three weeks paid vacation, and healthcare benefits. Overnight employees even earn an additional $2 per hour. By comparison, the average car wash employee earns around $45,000. Even managers only barely make about $60,000 per year.
