How to transfer PS4 data to PS5 

Want to play the best PS4 and PS5 co-op games? If you have a PS5 but originally played on a PS4, you’ll be able to load up your save data and use the same PS4 disc on your PS5. To load up your date, you’ll need to transfer it from your PS4 to PS5.

You’ll need to have your PS4 and PS5 plugged in and turned on and have a stable internet connection. We recommend having two monitors to do this, however you can just swap out the cables to view the displays between consoles. Here’s how to transfer PS4 data to PS5:

1. Turn on your PS5, sign into your profile, and go to Settings > System > System Software > Data Transfer. Read the on-screen warning and hit Continue
2. Turn on your PS4 and sign into the same profile 
3. Your PS5 will begin searching for your PS4
   1. If it can’t be located, check that both consoles are connected to the same network and restart your PS4
4. Once the PS4 is located, Press the PS4’s power button for 1 second until it beeps. You’ll have 5 minutes to do this before the process resets
5. After the PS4 restarts, you should see a list of the console’s save files displayed on your PS5. Select the data you want to transfer (or Select All to transfer everything across). When finished, click Next
6. Select the games or apps you wish to transfer and click Next
7. Selecting PS4 games and apps to transfer to PS5 with a checkmark and Next highlighted
8. Press Start Transfer to begin.
