Get Paid £1,000 To Eat Cheese & Dream

Love cheese? Have weird dreams? This could be the gig for you.

You’ve probably heard as a kid that you’re not supposed to eat cheese before bed. Supposedly, it makes your dreams go a little loopy.

A platform known as Sleep Junkie, which tells all about sleep, mattresses and the like, is paying one lucky person £1,000 to eat a ton of cheese before sleeping. Why? We guess to see what happens! If the old wives’ tale is true, then you can attest to it (or lean into it…whichever floats your boat).

If you’re lactose intolerant or vegan, then unfortunately this isn’t the gig for you. But if you consider yourself a cheese lover, then you absolutely must read on.

What do I have to do?

If you’re the lucky person who gets to eat cheese before bedtime, you’ll simply have to record a few things about your sleep quality, energy levels, and of course the kinds of dreams you have. Sleep Junkie is pretty adamant about testing the impact of cheese on your sleep and dreams. Do they increase nightmares? If you’re picked for the study, you can prove or disprove the theory!

When do I need to do this?

You’ll provide feedback on your nightly cheese snacking, dreams, and sleep quality over a three-month period. The study will begin sometime around March 2023.

What cheese will I be sampling?

According to Sleep Junkie, the study will also look into the different types of cheeses and whether or not they have different effects on your sleep. They will provide a list of cheeses to eat each week throughout the study.

Some of the cheeses include blue, hard, processed, and soft cheeses. They’ll add in lactose-free and vegan cheeses too, but since the study will require you to mostly consume dairy, it’s recommended that you consider your own dietary requirements before applying.

If you’re picked for the study, you’ll eat one kind of cheese every night for a week before sleeping, with a week break between each cheese swap to ensure results can be accurately recorded.

Plus, candidates will have all costs of cheese reimbursed and be paid £1,000 each at the end of the trial.

What’s required?

You’ll need to be at least 21 years of age to apply for the study and have decent writing skills when it comes to your daily reports.

It also goes without saying that you should enjoy eating cheese and sleeping—which we imagine is a vast majority of you guys.

You should also own a smartwatch or fitness tracker that tracks sleep, have a consistent sleep schedule, and be able to sleep alone during the trials. As mentioned before, this study isn’t suitable for those who are lactose intolerant or vegan.

Interested? Applications close on 10th February 2023—apply to Sleep Junkie’s study here.
