Existing Students Have Days Left To Apply For Student Finance–– Here’s What You Need To Know

The deadline to apply for student finance for this academic year is coming up.

If you’re a current undergraduate student, you may not know that you can apply for funding up to 9 months after your course has started.

This means that if you’ve started uni and didn’t take out all of the student finance that you were eligible for, or if your circumstances have changed since you applied for uni you can still update or change your application.

When is the deadline to apply for student finance for 2022/2023?

The deadline for undergraduate students to apply for student finance for this academic year (2022/2023) is Wednesday the 31st of May 2023.

This means that if you still need student finance for this year or you know that you will need extra support that you haven’t applied for yet, you’ll need to do it within the next few weeks.

This is extra important for those of you who may be struggling financially and may be eligible for additional funding or support. While you may have already applied for, and had access to your standard maintenance loan for this academic year, you may also be eligible for, or want to apply for DSA (disabled students’ allowance) or support funds if you’re a carer or have children.

If you miss the May 31st deadline, you won’t be eligible for any new student finance payments or grants (that haven’t already been confirmed) until the next academic year 2023/2024, which will start in September.

You can find more information about the deadline and apply on the government website.

If you are a student applying for the 2023/2024 academic year, this deadline won’t apply to you so don’t panic!
