Save money with some of the best Dyson Airwrap dupes around today.

If you’re an avid social media scroller, you’ve seen influencers filming their haircare routine with a Dyson Airwrap as star. But with a price tag of £479.99, it’s out of most student budgets to splurge.

The Dyson Airwrap is incredibly popular, selling out here, there and everywhere. Namely because of its ability to style and dry hair without extreme heat. This can save your hair from heat damage that was synonymous with popular hair care tools of the past (we’re looking at you Carmen Girls Angel Curl). So you can create stunning up-dos, curls, blow-outs or whatever TikTok trend takes your fancy, all without weeping over your fried hair. But with a nearly 500 quid price tag, we set out to find the best cheaper alternative to the Airwrap.

Enter the humble dupe. We LOVE a dupe, as you can probably tell by our list of the best perfume dupes and other dupes to save money. They’re a great way to keep up with the trends without breaking the bank.

When it comes to Dyson Airwrap dupes alternatives, shops are FULL of alternatives that range from around 50 to nearly 400. It’s great to have a choice, but we get it’s a little overwhelming. So we’ve broken down some of the most popular dupes by their price, attachments, speed and heat settings and more so you can find the one for you.

The Dyson Airwrap

Dyson Airwrap airstyler

Price: £479.99

Best for: All hair types and lengths

Attachments:  6 attachments including 2x long barrel sizes, smoothing dryer, smoothing brush, diffuser and volumising brush

Heat settings: 3 heat settings

Speed settings: 3 airflow settings

Before we get into the dupes, let’s take a minute to appreciate the Dyson Airwrap. Yes, it’s got a high price point, but the quality and results speak for themselves. With 6 attachments included, an incredibly chic storage case, plus 3 heat and airflow settings, there’s a reason why it’s so incredibly coveted.

The Dyson Airwrap revolutionised the game when it comes to protecting your hair from heat damage, with their Intelligent Heat Control measuring the temperature of the product over 40 times a second to keep it under 150°C while you’re drying your hair.

Dyson has always been known for its innovation when it comes to its products, and the Airwrap is no different. It uses the Coanda effect which works to curve air and hair around the barrel so you can style your hair with ease, using the powerful Dyson digital motor v9 to produce enough power.

There’s no doubt it’s an incredibly popular hair tool, and with a Dyson student discount, you can save some money on the original air styler.

Having said that – we can’t ignore the massive purse-shaped elephant in the room. It’s a very high-end product, and as a student it’s hard to ignore (or justify). Which is why we’re looking at every possible option – because who doesn’t want GORGEOUS hair all day every day?

Best Dyson Airwrap Dupes & Alternatives

There are so many new hair tools on the market now that range dramatically between price, attachments and quality. So we’ve gathered some of the best of the bunch to compare, as well as picking out some of the pros and cons of each tool.

Shark FlexStyle 5-in-1 air styler

Shark Flexstyle air styler

Price: £299.99

Best for: All hair types and lengths

Attachments:  Auto-Wrap Curlers, Paddle Brush, Oval Brush, Concentrator, Diffuser & Storage Case

Heat settings: 4 heat settings

Speed settings: 3 airflow settings

Why we love it:

For us, this was as near as you can get to the Dyson Airwrap, still at nearly £200 cheaper than the OG hair tool. With 5 attachments including the sought-after auto-wrap curlers, a diffuser and two different brush styles, it’s got everything you need to elevate your hairstyles.

It even comes with a storage case so you can keep it in great condition, no matter how many times you use it. We love how lightweight it is, which makes it perfect for travelling, especially in its handy storage case.

The Shark FlexStyle also uses the Coanda effect, same as the Airwrap, which creates a spinning vortex of air around the barrel of the hair tool to make your hair stick to it. This in itself sets it apart from competitor Airwrap dupes, which is why it has a higher price tag.

What didn’t we like?

The curling barrels are great, but for thin-haired girlies (like myself), I was hoping to see additional attachments with slightly smaller curling barrels. With all the attachments too, it does take up quite a lot of space even though it’s got the carry case, so bear that in mind too.

And of course, we can’t not mention the nearly £300 price tag too. Even though it’s still nearly £200 cheaper than the Dyson Airwrap, £300 is still a lot of money to pay for hair tools. Luckily, you can get a 9% student discount on Shark on Student Beans, making it that little bit more affordable. Maybe one to save for Black Friday or when your next student loan comes in…

Nicky Clarke AirStyle Pro

Nicky Clarke Airstyle Pro

Price: £249.99

Best for: A strong hold and long-lasting styles

Attachments: two aircurl stylers, a diffuser and concentrator

Heat settings: 4 heat settings

Speed settings: 3 speed settings

Why we love it:

Another of the more high-end air-stylers, Nicky Clarke AirStyle Pro is another great alternative to the Dyson Airwrap. It’s 74dB, making it one of the quietest air-stylers on the market (even quieter than the OG Dyson which is 77dB). It also includes a little lock switch that means you won’t accidentally switch between the heat settings or airflow settings — arguably quite a small detail but one that can make the difference and help reduce inconvenience.

The AirCurl attachments feel easier to use than the Shark FlexStyle, potentially due to the power behind them (AirStyle has 2000 watts of power vs FlexStyle has 1600 watts of power), which means curling your hair is easier than ever.

At £249.99, it’s nearly half the price of the Dyson Airwrap, making it a much more affordable, albeit still a little pricey hair tool. We love the diffuser option which, as the name suggests, can diffuse the force of the airflow when used, if you prefer a more gentle airflow.

The design is really slick and looks like a professional haircare tool that you’d see in salons, the colourway feels much more high-end than it is.

What didn’t we like:

For a high-end product, the attachments can feel a little bit flimsy sometimes. A noticeable difference between the Dyson Airwrap and Shark FlexStyle vs the Nicky Clarke AirStyle is the latter has less attachments included. These include the brush attachments which both the FlexStyle and Dyson Airwrap have included.

If those attachments were included, it might take away from the lightweight look and feel and compactability of the AirStyle, so I could let this slide. If you’re not bothered about brush attachments anyway, then you definitely won’t miss them here.

It’s still over the £200 mark, but for what you get, we think it’s an excellent alternative to the Dyson Airwrap.

Revlon One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Air Styler

Revlon airstyler

Price: £79.99

Best for: all hair types, curly, straight and fine

Attachments: airflow curler, oval brush, round brush, paddle brush and concentrator

Heat settings: 4 heat settings

Why we love it:

Ok, NOW we’re talking. Saving nearly £400(!!!) on a Dyson Airwrap, you could get your hands on the Revlon 5-in-1 Air Styler. Needless to say, one of the biggest selling points for this hair tool is the price because getting similar results to the Dyson Airwrap for under £100 is an absolute game changer.

This air styler comes with 5 attachments and includes 4 heat settings just like the Shark FlexStyle. If bouncy blow-drys and smooth everyday curls are your kind of hairstyle, then you’ve definitely come to the right place.

You can also buy additional attachments for the Revlon Air Styler to add on if you feel the need to match the Dyson Airwrap’s six attachments, but for a fraction of the price, we’re very happy!

It also feels incredibly easy to use in comparison to the Airwrap, so no more scrolling hair tutorials on how to use your air styler.

What don’t we like:

One thing we would’ve liked to see with the Revlon Air Styler (and yes, we’re clutching at straws here), is the diffuser attachment that we’ve seen on some of the other air stylers. This would be a great addition, especially for curly-haired girls.

It also runs a bit hotter than some of the other air stylers we’ve come across. So it’s worth considering this when choosing your temperature setting — there’s 4 to choose from. We obviously want to avoid any hair damage, and equally burned scalps, so take it steady while you work out the right heat for your hair.

Babyliss Air Style 1000

Babyliss airstyler

Price: £75

Best for: styling and volumising all types of hair on a budget

Attachments: drying nozzle, thermal brush, conical barrel and a full-size blow-dry paddle brush

Heat settings: 3 heat settings

Why we love it:

Coming in with another Airwrap dupe under £100, the Babyliss Air Styler 1000 is a great budget option that brings Airwrap-style results but at a fraction of the price.

We love all the different attachments that come with the Air Styler 1000, it means you can really decide what kind of hairstyle you want to go for and mix it up from your usual. The conical barrel in particular makes curling your hair an absolute dream.

Affordability is a massive reason why we rate the Babyliss Air Styler. Saving over £400 means you won’t have to survive on beans on toast for the rest of term. Always a bonus.

What don’t we like about it?

Compared to some of the other air stylers, the Babyliss Air Styler 1000 can be a little fiddly to remove attachments and pop them on. Especially when you have to use the thermal hairbrush to dry your hair 80% of the way before you can style it. This means you DO get a heat-resistant glove, which is handy as otherwise you could burn your hand replacing attachments.

But in the grand scheme of things, when you’re saving that much money, and you still get gorgeous results with your hair, it’s definitely one to think about when shopping for your dupe.

Remington Blow & Dry Style Air Styler

Remington air-styler

Price: £42.99

Best for: Quick and easy styling for all hair types on a budget

Attachments: 6 attachments including paddle brush, 3x ceramic coated bristle brush, concentrator and root boost

Heat settings: 2 heat settings and a cool shot

Speed settings: 2 speed settings

Why we love it

The lowest price of all of our dupes, the Remington Blow & Dry Air Styler comes in at £436 cheaper than the original Dyson Airwrap. If you’re really looking for Airwrap-quality results, but can’t imagine spending that kind of money, then Remington is a great brand.

We love the carry case and compactness of the Remington Air Styler, which really makes it great for travelling around. For the price, the 1200 watts of power does a brilliant job of styling your hair to how you want. It’s also one of the quieter air stylers too; definitely worth exploring if you’re looking for a budget air styler.

What don’t we like

Similar to the Babyliss Air Style 1000, the attachments can get quite hot, which can make the ease of use a little bit harder. It doesn’t quite have the finesse of some of the other models, as the attachments can be a bit clunky to clip on and stay in place.

What is the best Airwrap dupe?

There are so many brilliant Airwrap dupes to choose from and we’ve only touched on the top 5 that we’ve found.

For the best deal when it comes to price and quality, the Revlon One-Step Air Styler is hard to beat. We’re obsessed with the amount of attachments it comes with and the ease of use.
