Pizza-flavoured beer to hit UK shelves
Now THIS is news. It has been announced that a new pizza-flavoured beer (yeah, that’s right) will go on sale in the UK later this year.
As a student there’s a good chance you spend quite a bit of your time drinking beer. And when you’re not drinking beer you’re probably partial to the odd pizza.
They’re both tasty, but it’s not a particularly economic way to spend your time. However thanks to the new pizza-flavoured beer you can do both at once! Sort of...
Created by Tom and Athena Seefurth of St Charles, Illinois, the bold beverage was launched in their native US five years ago and was an immediate success.
We genuinely thought that beer couldn’t be improved - thankfully there are people like the Seefurths out there. Their decision to add tomatoes, basil, oregano and garlic to the humble pint is up there with the invention of the TV, Space Shuttle, and even studentbeans.com.
Creator Tom Seefurth said: ‘It tastes like normal beer when it's on your tongue. But when you swallow you get an aftertaste of pizza topping.
‘The best way to describe it would be, that it tastes the way it would if you eat a chunk of pizza, then take a swig of beer.’
Set to be priced at a measly £1.90 on this side of the pond, the Mamma Mia! Pizza Beer has an alcohol content of 4.7%.

We're impressed with Tom and Athena's fusion cooking, it would be the perfect accompaniment to the Kit Kat Chunky Sausage Roll or the Cadbury's Creme Scotch Egg.
