World's oldest sex toy?
A kinky discovery is made in Sweden.
Goodness me we're blushing just writing this. Archaeologists in Sweden believe they have discovered the oldest dildo in the world, thought to be between 6,000 and 8,000 years old.
The four inch phallus (no laughing please, people were a lot smaller then) was found in mud on the banks of the Gota Canal in Sweden's Ostergotland province, and is carved out of a stag's antler. While archaeologists say they cannot be 100% sure of its intended use, Dr. Martin Rundkvist confirmed that 'without doubt anyone alive at the time of its making would have seen the penile similarities just as easily as we do today'.
Sara Gummesson, who found the suspected dildo, was clearly aware of the humour of her discovery. 'At first I thought it was just an antler that had been worked on...but when I held it up I wasn't able to stop laughing'. Nice to see it's still bringing people pleasure so many centuries on.
