Briton becomes pigs' feet bobbing champion

Oxford man claims a win at the 14th annual Redneck Games.

Move over Olympics - we have a new favourite sporting event. The Redneck Games, held in the U.S. state of Georgia, includes such activities as 'horseshoe' throwing with toilet seats, the mud pit belly flop and the armpit serenade. It also features a bobbing for pigs' feet competition, which this year saw British man Mark Souster coast to victory with an impressive seven feet in 20 seconds.

The 24 year old from Oxford said he found out about the games last year, and has had victory at the event in his sights ever since. In tackling the pigs' feet contest he claimed his strategy was simple: 'go for the toes'.

The Redneck Games were started in 1996 as a response to jokes about the Atlanta Olympics being run by 'a bunch of rednecks'. This year the games were opened by gap-toothed mascot Preston Wright, who lit a barbecue grill with a torch made from beer cans.
