Boxer Valuev goes hunting for yeti
The mysterious hairy giant that could rip you apart... goes in search of the yeti.
Scarily big former heavyweight boxing champion Nikolai Valuev has swapped punching for hunting and has gone in search of the legendary (though, clearly not real) yeti in the mountains of Siberia.
There have been numerous ‘sightings’ of the beast in recent years, which some locals have described as a ‘hairy humanoid creature’. Hmm, sounds like my housemate...
Valuev was the tallest and heaviest boxing champion in history - standing at seven feet tall and weighing an impressive 23 stone. If I was the yeti, I’d be scared.
Ever the realist, Nikolai told the BBC that he wasn’t holding out too much hope of encountering the beast: ‘I doubt whether the yeti is going to run into the road and greet our truck with open arms. But I’ll let you know if I see anything.’
According to the Kemerovo regional administration Valuev hopes to ‘talk to the yeti about life’.
