Dead rat found in can of baked beans

If you're about to tuck into a fry up, then look away now.

Baked beans with sausages we can cope with, but there are some meaty treats we'd rather not discover, and a rat is most definitely one of them.

The details of the rodent horror story are vague: an unnamed cook opened an unnamed brand of baked beans and found the body of a dead rat floating round inside. Heinz, the nation's favourite bean makers, have already distanced themselves from the discovery, stating that they are not 'in any way connected to this incident'.

A food scientist confirmed that the rat must have got into the beans during the tinning process, and said there were obviously 'severe failings somewhere in the food production process'. Meanwhile we imagine there is now a chef somewhere with a lifelong phobia of anything in a can.

If you want to see the grisly pic, be warned - it isn't pretty...
