We've compiled a list of the nine best/most inexplicable emergency service calls we've ever encountered.

1.) Woman calls 911... to ask for a date

Ohio resident Bernadette Music (great surname, by the way), found herself in a spot of trouble with the law after phoning the police to ask for a date.

‘I look healthy... I’m 5ft1 and I weigh 120 pounds’, she told the operator. The day went from bad to worse as she was arrested for urinating in the hallway of her building, so we’d be surprised if any of the police officers took her up on the offer. Read the full story here.

2.) Girl calls 911... after being told off in school

We’re gonna put it out there... America is crazy. After being told that she wasn’t paying attention in class, a Californian schoolgirl took out her mobile phone and called the cops to complain about her teacher’s actions.

But that’s not even the weird part - rather than reprimanding the child in question for wasting police time, the teacher was actually suspended. As we say... crazy. Read the full story here.

3.) Family call 911... after getting lost in corn maze

A family that had gotten lost in a Massachusetts corn maze finally had to admit defeat and call for police assistance to get them out.

The local constabulary managed to locate them within 10 minutes - but the whole thing was quite unnecessary... there was no fence or wire, so they could actually have just walked through the corn to escape at any time. Read the full story here.

THINK ABOUT YOUR MUM HAVING REALLY LOUD SEX...

5.) Woman calls 911... over neighbour’s excessive toilet noises

Rather than complaining, the woman in question called 911 because she was worried about loud noises coming from her neighbour’s basement appartment.

6.) Man calls 911... for advice on drugs

Most of these stories are stupid, but this is arguably the worst offender... A 21-year-old Connecticut man called police to ask, hypothetically, how much trouble he would get in for growing a marijuana plant.

Police traced the call to Michelson's home, where they found a small amount of pot. He was arrested and released on bail. Douche. Read the full story here.

7.) Man calls 911... after being ripped off by his drug dealer

A South Carolina man called for police assistance, claiming that he had given his drug dealer $60, but had only received $20 worth of crack in return. Amazing.

8.) Man calls 999... to report the moon

A worried South Wales resident dialled 999 to report a ‘bright stationary object’ in the sky. Naturally concerned, an officer was sent to the area to investigate.

Control: "Alpha Zulu 20, this object in the sky, did anyone have a look at it?"

Officer: "Yes, it's the moon. Over."

9.) Woman calls 911... because McDonald’s had run out of McNuggets

Yeah. That’s what we said. 27-year-old Latreasa Goodman from Florida was so disappointed with the lack of McNuggets in her local Maccie D’s that she decided to get the law involved.

Unsurprisingly, she was arrested for wasting police time. People really do like their McNuggets - like this woman who offered sexual favours in return for the popular meaty snack.
