Money, Money, Money

Budgeting

It's what makes the world go round, but how much of it will you need?

Money is one of the biggest considerations when planning a trip but how much you need depends entirely on you, how you plan to travel and what activities you plan on doing.

For example, Asia will cost less than Australia but on average budget on £25 a day and take a credit card for financial back-up and emergencies.

Card vs Cash

Credit/debit cards are an all-round winner as there are ATMs nearly everywhere in the world.

If you're heading somewhere remote that's unlikely to have cash points make sure you plan ahead and take extra cash..

Carrying some travellers cheques is also great as a back up - you can cancel them if they're stolen too!

Working on the Road

Working while you travel helps fund your trip and you'll meet the locals and experience everyday life - rather than the life of a traveller.

It's your responsibility to obtain proper and detailed medical advice in good time before your departure.

We suggest you visit www.dh.gov.uk for 'Advice on Health for Travellers'.

Your GP will also be able to advise on required vaccinations or alternatively some STA Travel branches have a travel clinic attached so you can get everything you need in one visit!
