With the Liverpool ONE centre fully opening in September 2008, the already buzzing shopping and entertainment scene of the city gets set for a boost.
Many shops are already open, and student favourites such as Debenhams, H&M and Peacocks can be found alongside upmarket stores.
If bargain hunting is more your style, visit the markets in the city centre, where there are plenty of great deals around.
To all the sports fans out there (especially the Liverpool FC supporters!), the football stadium is definitely worth a look.

Other attractions include the International Slavery Museum and the Merseyside Maritime Museum- they might sound like 'school trip' destinations, but they're packed full of interesting features and information on Liverpool 's varied history.
For a special evening of entertainment, the brand new Echo Arena has opened recently, with plenty of acts playing in the '08 Capital of Culture.
You might have to be a die-hard fan to visit the Beatles Story in the docks, though if you can't stretch to the £8.50 student entry fee, you could always head back into the city and visit "the most famous club in the world", The Cavern club.
Famed for its musical history, if you just fancy a look or want to experience some live music, it's an interesting place to go.
If none of the restaurants in the Albert Dock take your fancy, there is a huge selection of places to eat and drink in the city centre.
You can get tapas for £10 at La Tasca in Queen's Square, or if you're on a budget, visit the food court in the St. John's centre for all your fast food favourites.
Famous for its nightlife, you're never short for a place to go to dance the night away in Liverpool .
Concert Square is a great place to start, with a huge selection of bars, and plenty of clubs surrounding for you to make your way to afterwards.
Medication at Nation is reputedly the biggest student night in Liverpool, or for a truly fabulous night out, check out Garlands.
Alternatively, just take a wander until you find stumble across something interesting- with so much to choose from, it's inevitable!
