Top Facebook Applications

They make us smile, they drive us made, and, like cheesy US sitcoms, there are an awful lot of them.

They cover everything from quizzes and games to Adopt Your Own Velociraptor (I might have made that one up...). Here are my Top 5.

Photos

Upload 60 digital photos per album at a click, tag the people in them and comment on the fun-filled frolics captured on screen: this is automatically installed application everyone can agree is brilliant.

It may have resulted in excessive picture-taking on nights out, but at least it serves as a virtual memory when our own fails us.

A great way to show off to people how brilliant your holiday in Morocco/Australia/outer-space was, and of course, an essential part of the ancient art of Facebook stalking.

Without them, how would we be able to reassure ourselves that we're much better looking than our ex's new other-half?

Graffiti

The perfect way to take banter to a whole new level, while at the same time exploring your creative side.

Plus, birthday wishes always look so much more heartfelt in pink and purple next to a smiley sun.

If you're a bit of an artist and have a LOT of time on your hands, you can create some amazing pictures. Have a look at the public gallery: you'll be amazed.

Automatically recognises all the artists you've put in the Favourite Music bit of your profile and sends you updates on their new material and tours.

(So don't expect too much if you've only got Elvis on there).

You can also dedicate songs to friends and post your favourite songs onto your profile which can be played directly from your page.

A genuinely useful application for fans of any kind of music.

Free gifts

A range of brightly coloured pictures to send to friends to pop in the corners of their profile so that everyone knows how loved they are.

New ones are added all the time, particularly on occasions like Valentine's Day and Christmas.

Your choices include hotdogs, dragons, knickers and clowns, though my personal favourites are the vast array of cute-but-stupid-looking animals on offer.

Latest student offers- studentbeans.com

Well, it had to go in here really. If you can't be bothered to trawl the Student Beans website looking for deals, you can add this application and select the city you're in.

All the new deals will be displayed on your profile. Minimum effort, maximum gain.
