Top 5 Budget Clothes Stores

1. Primark

Known as Penney's in Ireland Primark is the epitome of a budget clothing store.

Cheap disposable fashion is their forte - their motto is "look good, pay less".

With 177 stores over Ireland, Spain and the UK, Primark has rapidly expanded and its reputation has changed dramatically.

Gone are the days when shopping in Primark was the height of embarrassment... nowadays a lot of students don't have any need or funds to shop anywhere else.

It has received various awards and been voted "Best Value High Street Fashion" by ITV viewers.

However the company has recently come under scrutiny due to claims that some of its clothes are made in illegal sweatshops in India.

The company insist that all its trade is ethical.

2. Peacocks

If Primark is the Tesco of the budget clothes world then Peacocks is probably Morrisons.

It claims to be Britain's hottest value fashion chain and does have at least one benefit over Primark: online shopping - Peacocks.co.uk.

It may not be as cheap as Primark but you're probably less likely to see umpteen other people walking down the high street in the same outfit!

3. Asda

George at ASDA is definitely worth a look for those holiday essentials; with bikinis from £3 and flip-flops for £2 you can't really go wrong.

With an advertising campaign fronted by WAG Coleen McGloughlin, George's popularity has soared.

Its website George.com makes buying from George even more convenient.

4. Tesco

Tesco sells EVERYTHING so it's no surprise that it has various successful clothing ranges.

The range of lingerie is surprisingly good.

Buying from this all-conquering hyper/supermarket will give you the satisfaction of Clubcard points too.

5. H&M

This high street store stocks many fashion essentials at very reasonable prices.

Take a visit for essentials such as vests and tees or something right on trend like their patterned ra-ra style skirts.

They don't have online shopping in the UK but you can view some of their ranges at HM.com

Peacocks clothing have always been one of my favourite bargain fashion stores. They have always managed to react quickly to produce the latest fashions and looks - i love some of their Autumn/Winter 2008 range. The 'build your look' section of the site is prety cool as well. Byyeee
