All things bright and beautiful!

Winter days are dull and drab enough without people wearing make up to match, so bring on the colour with these easy tips.

For an instant colour boost slick on a layer of coloured mascara.

They're available in a variety of colours from shocking pink for the bold, to dark cherry black for a more subtle look.

Those with green eyes should try purple to boost their colour, whilst brown or blue eyed beauties should give turquoise a go.

If you don't feel brave enough to go the whole hog, just apply to the tips of the lashes for a touch of drama.

Pale winter skin makes some people long for the golden tan of summer.

If you fall into this category then a decent bronzer is your best friend this season.

Choose a shade to compliment your skin tone (you don't want to look like you've been tangoed) and apply to areas the sun would naturally hit, like the cheeks, forehead and nose for a healthy glow.

Or if you prefer to embrace pale skin choose blusher over bronzer.

Sweep it onto the apples of the cheeks for a fresh-faced look.

The easiest place to wear colour on the face is the eyes.

Eye shadows come in every shade you can think of, so it's easy to find something to suit your mood.

Gold is one of this season's colours and is wearable by everyone.

Metallics in general help brighten up your face and draw the eye in with a touch of sparkle; perfect for parties!

For those who dislike wearing a lot of makeup, nail varnish is a simple way to add a splash of colour.

The massive array of colours means it's easy to match your nails to your outfit or to grab attention by clashing them.

Red and purple are especially strong colours to wear this season.

Bright, bold lips are big this season, so it's time to embrace the lipstick!

Due to the revival of the Gothic trend, statement lips are in darker shades like reds, purples and even blacks.

For lip colour that pops try a lip stain. Stains give long lasting colour without the texture of lipstick so are ideal for those on the go. Keep lips looking luscious with a layer of gloss.

Let's keep things colourful this Christmas!
