For the fitness-conscious student the must-have of the moment has to be the brand spanking new Wii Fit which has only just hit the high street! Wii fit comes with game and pressure-sensitive Wii Balance Board and costs around £69.

The board can be used for an array of fun, exercise-related activities, including aerobics, yoga, muscle stretches and games and is proving to be an exciting addition to the Nintendo Wii's repertoire.

Whilst the Playstation Portable (PSP) may not be new for this summer many new features and upgrades are being launched. A camera can now be bought for it (Go!Cam for £35) which now enables free voice and video messaging via the internet - great news for all students.

Rumour also has it that blu-ray movies are coming to PSP in the near future, plus it can still play games, watch video and access music and photos all for around £130!

20 Questions Version 3 might sound like a child's toy but will provide hours of fun for any student. This amazing, mind-reading ball tries to guess what you are thinking within twenty questions and the only words that catch it out are x-rated! This gadget, which is cheap at £8.49, would make any afternoon in a students' union entertaining.

Any DAB radio is a simple must-have for summer as it is a much more sociable way of enjoying music than personal mp3 players. It can be carried to the beach, park or any picnic and instantly change the atmosphere.

The Intempo TRS-01 is a great example at only £39.99 and it comes in five different colours so as to preserve the individuality of any personality, these can be bought at intempodigital.com.

People who enjoy the simple pleasures in life will enjoy the Picooz Micro Helicopter!

Only six inches long and weighing an incredible 10 grams they are the smallest and lightest miniature remote controlled helicopters.

They are polystyrene, palm-sized, have flashing blue LED lights and are controlled by an infra red beam. Whilst difficult at first, it is relatively easy to get used to manoeuvring it and can be flown indoors (go to youtube.com to see a man land one in his hand!).

They are a bargain at £15.99 from play.com with over 45 customer reviews giving it an average of 4 ?,½ stars!
