How would you sum up your sound in 5 words?
Indie Pop with Exotic Rhythms.
How did the band first get together?
We were all in and out of other bands but decided to come together to develop ourselves as musicians.
What's the best/worst live performance you've done so far?
Every performance is the best and worst, we enjoy every gig but we all strive for perfection and obviously that is a very hard feat to accomplish.
Who are you main musical influences?
The Police, the way the rhythm compliments the vocals is so uplifting.
What is your favourite thing about your University?
Days off!
What is the story behind the name of your band?
Like most, a list of names were made and then brought to the table and we decided on Idol Minds.
Where do your song ideas come from?
James usually writes the songs, drawing inspiration from anything from tales of failed romance to the aesthetics of our humble seaside town.
Have you got any forthcoming live dates?
Well, hopefully the final in London, apart from that we have a show at The Blue Room in Blackpool on 2nd December. That will be a storm! Were currently taking a bit of time to step back, we really want to get some new demos recorded, we've got mountains of material at the moment.
What's the best thing about being in a band?
Seeing people singing and genuinely enjoying the music, that gets me through my day.
Why should readers vote for your track over the competition?!
Because we don't get many chances or opportunities coming from a little seaside town called Morecambe. If people believe in the music then they should back us, and then hopefully we can prove them right.
If you are one of the final 3 bands to be in the London final, what can the audience expect from you?
We want to create an atmosphere that will leave the fans genuinely happy and content with their night once they have left. Too many artists disappoint live and we really don't want to be one of those.
