studentbeans.com's guide to breathing
No, we're not messing around - this will improve your life.
OK, so it’s not as if you’re going to forget how to breathe. After all, if you've managed to log on to studentbeans.com then, well, you're breathing. Good news!
But you may just need to remember to stop and take a few deep breaths every once in a while because - like Maroon 5 suggested way back in 2002 - with impending exams and increasing numbers of deadlines, sometimes it feels like 'It’s getting harder and harder to breathe'.
Since it's January and we've come up with 98 other, equally - if not more -amazing things to help push you through this blue month, we thought we'd help out with one of the simplest things ever. Deep breathing is often used for things like yoga and meditation but can also be used to help you to relax in any situation - Whether it's right before that job interview or prior to a nerve-racking first date.
Just be sure to follow these steps and breathe your way to absolute calm...
Take your pulse and sit/stand with a good posture
Inhale deeply through your nose, allowing your belly to push out
Release slowly by blowing out through your mouth and allowing your stomach to return to normal
Repeat this until you start to feel calmer
Take your pulse again and see just how much your heart rate has slowed down!
