Free app of the day: Wimbledon
Get all the info you need on the UK's biggest event this month (now that Glasto is over).
In a nutshell: The official app for Wimbledon 2011, complete with schedule, scores, photos and player biographies.
Available on: iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad
Why do I need it? To keep up-to-date on all things Wimbledon, of course. Whether you need visitor info for the tennis bonanza or just want to keep track on those scores on-the-go, this is the app for the job.
How it works: This app is chocka full of useful little bits. The home screen is laid out into 12 categories, including: 'Scores', 'Schedule', 'News' and 'Spectator Info'.
The menu is ridiculously easy to navigate and as well as timely updates on matches, there is the option to view high-quality video overviews of each day and read tweets about Wimbledon, as they come in. You know, because you just have to know that Caroline Wozniacki (tennis pro) went to the cinema to see Bad Teacher with her brother. Twitter is full of must-know info like that.
You can also listen to Wimbledon Radio, check out maps - in case you're lucky enough to be visiting in this glorious sunshine - and have a gander at some of the action shots available in the photos section.
