In a nutshell: Race your penguin down the mountains of Antactica, gobbling up fish as you go. And watch out for the angry bear!

Why do I need it?: You've exhausted Angry Birds  (including the seasonal specials) and Toy Balls and need something else to distract from uni work during the holidays. Also, because this one involves a relatively cute penguin.

How it works: You're a penguin. You like fish and you like sliding on your belly. So what better thing to do than slip around on the icy mountains, eating kippers (or whatever fish they munch on)?

All you need to do in Race Penguin is tap the screen to make your penguin slide down valleys, release, and then touch the screen again to try and land ever so gracefully - before the bear comes to get you. So simple. Yet so very time-consuming.

Race Penguin is hands down the most addictive penguin-based game we know. The format is the same as Angry Birds, in that there is a three star rating system (so you can revisit time and time again to perfect your score) and there is the ability to unlock levels, taking the slidy penguin fun to the Sahara and Brazil.

You can also buy other adorable penguins with different characteristics (say hello to Super Penguin and 'cute penguin girl' Penguinette), depending on how many levels you complete.

Race Penguin is not the most strenuous game in the world but then, we like easy. It makes us feel like we've achieved something.
