The 10 sexiest athletes at London 2012 Olympics

There’s a load of reasons to love the Olympics, not all of them strictly sport-related…

Years of dedication. Hours upon hours of training. Blood, sweat and tears. These are the ingredients that make the world’s top athletes. They also make for the world’s best bodies.

Sit back, relax and enjoy your summer spent ogling (sorry watching) the greatest “talent” this planet has to offer…

Darya Klishina, Long Jump

enter image description here

This 21-year-old Russian stunner is one of the most talked about athletes of the games. But it’s not just her elfin good looks that’s got people leaping in her path - she’s also laid down the second best jump in the history of junior athletics.

Ryan Lochte, Swimming

enter image description here

Rival and roomie of 14x gold medal winner Michael Phelps, Lochte is the pin-up of US swimming. A more focused regime (last Olympics he put on 15 pounds on a diet of Mackie D’s) sees him - and his abs - set to make waves and break hearts in and out the pool, which (luckily) he’s in EVERY day of the swimming competition.

Leryn Franco, Javelin

enter image description here

Hands up who thought javelin throwers should be burly, slab-armed women of a certain age? This Paraguayan model and athlete will be hurling a big pointy stick - albeit not particularly well (she came 51st in Beijing) - to show that women can do brawn and beauty as well as any man.

Aldo Montano, Fencing

enter image description here

Both Dad and Grandpops were Olympic fencers so this Italian stallion is a thoroughbred champ. With one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal under his belt, we believe him when he says that 'fencing is a sexy sport' - shame he’ll be hidden behind a mask!

Lolo Jones, Hurdles

enter image description here

Jones is looking to squash her demons in the 100m hurdles after (literally) tripping up to miss out on gold last Olympics. With a rags-to-riches story - at one point her family lived in the basement of a Salvation army church - her chocolate eyes and killer cheekbones mean she’s a princess on the track.

Louis Antoine Smith, Gymnastics

enter image description here

Our very own heart throb is a genuine medal hopeful on the pommel horse. Skin tight kit, bulging muscles and a hot face means there’s no excuse not to cheer on our man!

Miwa Asao, Beach Volleyball

enter image description here

The Japanese superstar has single-handedly raised the profile of beach volleyball in her homeland. Call us cynical, but when her nicknames include 'White Fairy' and 'Princess Kaoru' we have a feeling her looks may have more to do with it than her mad volleyballin' skillz.

Yohan Blake, 100m

enter image description here

If anyone’s going to beat the lightning bolt in the 100m it’s his Jamaican team mate and world champion Yohan Blake. He certainly has the bod, if not the height, to steal Bolt's thunder.

Jess Ennis, Heptathlon

enter image description here

Our golden girl isn’t the pin up of this Olympics for nothing. Rock hard abs and a teeny weeny waist have the rest of the athletes - male and female - chasing after her.

Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Júnior, Football

enter image description here

Or just Oscar to his mates. Chelsea’s new signing will be pulling the (heart) strings at no.10 for Brazil’s Olympics football team before lighting up the Premiership with his boyish good looks.

Olympic Sex Fest

Phew - it’s enough to get hot and bothered just looking at these sporting gods and goddesses!

And apparently we’re not the only ones. With open dorms, on site ‘discos’ and some seriously sculpted bodies, the Olympic Village isn’t exactly the celibate environment we might think it is.

US soccer star Hope Solo said: 'I’ve seen people having sex right out in the open. On the grass, between buildings, people are getting down and dirty.'

In the 2000 Sydney Games officials had to put in an order for 20,000 extra condoms after the initial 70,000 ran out.

Clearly sporting action isn’t the only thing on everyone’s minds…
