London 2012 jobs - be a part of the Olympic Games
Check out these London 2012 jobs and help to make history this summer at the Olympics...
It’s officially 2012! And you know what that means? OLYMPICS.
Yes, it’s going to be Olympics central come July and every month that comes before it so why not involve yourself in all the hype at the start of the year?
If you’re one of the lucky few that managed to get hold of some tickets then you’ll be part of something that very few generations get to experience - an Olympic games in your home country.
However, such a massive event wouldn’t be possible without the thousands of people working behind the scenes - and as many people as have already been employed to help the road to 2012 run smooth, there will be even more employed over the coming months.
The Olympics have created a whole host of jobs for not only residents of East London, but for people from all corners of the country - so why not see if there is something out there that interests you and become part of the greatest show on Earth.
There are a number of companies advertising jobs in all kinds of industries - from bar work that pays by the hour to management roles offering substantial salaries.
While many of the roles are aimed towards the games themselves and therefore may not continue after 2012, the experience you will gain will be invaluable - after all, not many people can put ‘worked at the Olympic games’ on their CV.
If you’re anything like us you probably missed out on tickets. But we’re not bitter... well, not that bitter.
So what better way to make up for missing out on tickets than to actually work for the games - and who knows, you might end up getting a freebie or two!
Head to the Jobs for the Games site now to check out what roles are available and sign up for updates.
Here are a couple of examples to give you an idea of some of the jobs that are on offer:
Housekeeper - Be a cleaner in the Olympic villages - it’s part time work and will get you around £8 per hour, but every little helps!
Financial analyst - This job asks for someone who has a good degree in business or finance, but offers a tidy salary of £25,000.
Sous chef - If you’ve got any experience working with food why not consider a career as a chef - for £27,000 we might just give it a go...
If you’re looking for work but don’t feel that the Olympics have anything to offer you, why not check out other great jobs sites such as Badenoch & Clark or Spring Personnel.
