Test your vocal talents - and your friends' ear drums - with the latest game for the Wii.

With the likes of Singstar, Lips, Guitar Hero and Rock Band all illustrating our national love of music-based humiliation, We Sing Encore is bound to be a hit. As the new karaoke game for the Wii, it boasts a relatively large song selection (40 tracks as opposed to Singstar's 30), and a whole host of genres, with everything from Kasabian and the Kaiser Chiefs to N-Dubz and The Black Eyed Peas. Karaoke classics such as I Will Survive and Total Eclipse of the Heart will please any wannabe divas, while more modern tracks from artists including Pixie Lott, Rihanna and Florence and the Machine will keep younger players happy.

We Sing Encore also stands out from its karaoke game rivals because you're able to have not just two, but FOUR players all singing at once, allowing you to create a racket of truly epic proportions (the neighbours will love it!) However, the standard version of the game only comes with two microphones, so you'll need to get a couple more and a four port USB hub in order to achieve your cacophony.

Karaoke becomes truly competitive with the 'Versus' and 'Group Battle' options, in which you can either go solo or team up with other singers to battle it out for the most points. Other selections include 'First to X', in which players compete to get to a set number of points, 'Blind' where the lyrics and sound can suddenly disappear and 'Expert' - a setting for true karaoke veterans where no lyrics or pitch bars are shown on screen.

For anyone brave enough, We Sing Encore allows you to listen back to your performance immediately after your turn, although luckily there is no 'Save' option. If your singing turns out to be less than perfect then you can even try out singing lessons - they probably won't turn you into Mariah but might improve your ability to hit the right pitch now and then. That being said, one of the nicest things about We Sing Encore is that you don't actually have to be as vocally accurate as, for example, Sony's Singstar, making it far more enjoyable for all crappy singers out there (i.e. 85% of the UK population).

Basically, if you need a way to while away those post-pub hours, or perhaps something to fill those rainy afternoons when library time is unthinkable, then the We Sing Encore is for you. Just make sure you close the windows...
