Become a Norwich Tour Guide!

NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 

As a Chauffeur you would be expected to conduct tours on the River. The 
tour is an hour long and you would Punt the customers along the river in 
one of our boats and give them the history of the city and naturally 
tell them some terrible tour guide jokes as well. Working hours are from 
10:30 to 17:00. Chauffeurs also have to take customers out on pre-booked 
evening Haunted River Tours and Romantic Tours. Pay is £10 per tour plus 
tips. Tips are not split and down the the individual. 

A Tout works the same hours with the exception that they would not be 
taking any tours and do no night time tours. Touts conduct direct sales 
on the street to the general public on the street. They promote and sell 
all types of tour. Touts are paid 30% sales commission of what they 
individually sell. 

All members of staff are given a guaranteed wage as a safety net for 
slow days. Full staff training is also provided. 

We operate a strict uniform policy at all of our Punting Companies 
(Canterbury Punting Co & Cambridge Punting Co) and uniform consists of a 
waistcoat / company jumper / company jacket and straw boater hat which 
are supplied by ourselves. The individual has to supply their own boat 
shoes, chinos and shirts.
