You are paid each time a person views your site with the banner on it and you are also paid again should somebody visit your site and click on the link that is provided. Over time, the amount of money builds up and eventually you can cash it in via a bank transfer.
2. Drive traffic to your site
Quite simply, the more people who view your site and click on the advertisements displayed on it, the more money you earn. To drive traffic to your site you need to make people aware of it.
Driving traffic to your site can be a time consuming part of making it successful but it is paramount to its success. Even if your website is the best of its kind, nobody will view it if they have not heard about it. Get into cyberspace and promote your site, comment on blogs (with a link back to a relevant article or blog post on your site), use social sharing sites (such as Twitter, Digg, StumbleUpon) and social network sites, such as MySpace and Facebook.
